Everyone I Know Is Obsessed With Statement Jewellery - But I think It’s A By-word For Lazy Fashion, Along With Leggings And Those Short-sleeved Shirts With Long Sleeves Sewn Into Them. Tell me I’m wrong…

Yes you can liven up a plain white t-shirt with a statement necklace, but where’s the sense of achievement in that? And where does it end? Livening up your best lounging pants with some chandelier earrings and a cocktail ring? It’s madness I tell you!

Yes, we’ve already covered this, I’m a fashion snob. Despite the fact that I’m writing this in a pair of pyjamas and an egg-stained hoody, I’m strangely (irrationally?) averse to anything that could be construed as ‘fast’ or ‘easy’ fashion. Which is where my issue with statement jewellery comes in.

This is as statement as my jewellery gets, my sightly battered watch. But look how nice Phoebe looks!

Or am I missing a trick? Will some kick-ass statement accessories revolutionise my wardrobe and my life?
