I just got the Entertainment Weekly Fall TV Preview issue (actually, 3 of them) and I sort of wish I could be put into an induced coma to wait out the week or two until all the fall shows start again.
As a child, TV helped me through my chronic ugliness and epic unpopularity, by keeping me company in those long, loney latchkey hours and giving me hope that some day I would have friends like Zack and Kelly.
Today, well, I don't want to say that my boyfriend and I don't enjoy each other's company, but we enjoy it a lot more when the TV is on and we're not looking at or listening to each other.
When there's nothing on TV, my nights stretch out into emptiness and I end up staying to the office until 8 p.m. even though some of the company's employees are having a jam session complete with bongos I KID YOU NOT, just because I can't face my sad, TV-less household. But not anymore! Because TV is coming back!
Here are the 7 shows shows I am most excited to watch, along with no more than two words explaining why.
Up all Night
America's Next Top Model All Stars
The X Factor
I will also be checking out or tuning back in to: The Playboy Club, Dexter, The Walking Dead, The Office, Boardwalk Empire, Person of Interest, How I Met Your Mother and Modern Family.
Which brings me to an important question, regarding what I will call the America's Next Top Model All Stars-The X Factor-Modern Family debacle of 2011.
At 9:00 p.m., there is a DVR conflict between the second half-hour of "The X Factor," the first half-hour of ANTM, and "Modern Family."It's a similar conflict that led me to missing the whole last season of America's Next Top Model. The whole season! I can't do it again, people. But I really want to watch the other two shows as well!
Should I just get a second DVR for the bedroom? We neeeever watch TV in there; in fact, we got rid of a dresser recently and now the TV is sitting on the floor at an unwatchable angle.
Alternately, should I try to make some friends?
