One of the (many) things I love about Gwen is how she’s adapted her very unique look over the years to suit her age and changing lifestyle without ever abandoning her distinctive style DNA.
I’m currently pondering the best way to do this – how to update my wardrobe as I proceed through a new decade (thirties) and want to look a bit more ‘grown-up’ without abandoning my indie girl look. In this process, Gwen is – as always – my guiding light.
Gwen still rocks the silhouette she favoured in the ‘90s (baggy bottom half and tight top) she just does it in a slightly evolved way. I love the way her beach outfit manages to be simultaneously covered up and sexy – that long, floaty skirt looks cool, comfortable and feminine while the cut-off vest counterbalances the girliness of the skirt perfectly. That black and red cap and big shades are pure Gwen and again add a punchy contrast to the all-white outfit.
Look at her stance – she seems so relaxed and confident, because she is wearing those clothes, not the other way round. She’s not fussed about being ‘on-trend’ or flaunting her (still ridiculously) hot bod – she just looks like Gwen. Sigh.
