A couple weeks ago I wrote about cute bags to take to school or to work and although initially there was an anti-backpack sentiment, the comments transformed that into "I WANNA SEE BACKPACKS!" and since I always aim to please you guys -- or creep you out, whatever -- here's a roundup of the coolest backpacks out there to explore the hallways, the water coolers and even the world!
Fjallraven Kanken Mini Backpack $60, Creatures of Comfort
The Fjallraven Kanken backpacks may have a name that rivals some Icelandic volcanoes, but that hasn't stopped them from being all the rage among a certain type of hip professional that valuescool and practical. These come in a variety of colors and are sturdy enough to carry all your daily essentials. For 60 bucks, you may as well get a few and color-coordinate them with your outfits everyday.
If you're seeking something a bit more serious, then these cool styles from Urban Outfitters have you covered. I love the almost masculine vibes of the Cooperative style, as well as the mix of textures; it wouldn't feel out of place worn with a pantsuit or next to your fancy-schmancy desk. The Deux-Leux style has backpack straps but looks like a regular purse which makes it super versatile.
I'm a big fan of brightly colored bags that don't really match anything else you are wearing (because if you have to wear a uniform everyday you may as well have fun with your accessories!) and these colorful bags are JUST what the doctor ordered. I've written about the Cambridge Satchel bags before (my obsession is obvious and yet I STILL don't own one), and this one has backpack straps for extra awesomeness! If you want something a little more casual, the Baggu bags are a great alternative and an even better price. They come in a couple different colors, but this teal one is my total favorite.
Doux by Dusen Dusen Printed Backpack $59, Urban Outfitters
And speaking of having fun with your accessories, what could be more fun than an all-over puppy print? NOTHING! Of course we've established that animals on things are cool so you know, two birds one stone.
