The Problem: I WANT YOUR CURLS!

Hi Courteney,
First of all I love Cougar Town!! Best show ever :)

But I have a question: I love your hair on the show!! What do you use to get these amazing natural looking curls?

I would just love to get answer on this question!! Pretty please with sugar :D

Hair is a tough one. I'm pretty lazy.  I don't even know how to use a blow dryer. I only brush my hair occasionally in the shower, after conditioning. But when I work it's another story. For curls, my hairstylist on Cougar Town (Brant Mayfield) uses a 25ml to 18ml Clipless Enzo Milano curling iron with big sections.


 

 


Brant uses Bumble and Bumble Thickening Spray to create a hold before blow drying.

The Problem:  HAIR DEHYDRATED FROM BLOW-DRYING

First of all I want to thank you for the opportunity you give readers to ask questions on their beauty problems. I really enjoy your columns, and i hope you know a solution to my problem. ;)

The thing is, I have naturally wavy (difficult) hair, that really needs styling to keep it under control. For that I use a blowdryer and a comb to straighten it out every day, not completely, but just a bit so that it stays in place and doesn't look messy. But since a few years it has become really, really dry, and it looks damaged.


I already tried using damage repair shampoos from professional hairstylists, as well as conditioners and hair masks. And before I use the blowdryer I always put an oily serum in my hair to prevent too much damage. Still, nothing seems to help and it has gotten to the point where I can't let my hair grow out, simply because it isn't healthy enough. Only when i keep it short it looks good.


Now I imagine as an actress, your hair undergoes a lot of blowdrying/styling too. But your hair still looks so healthy and shiny! Do you by any chance use any special products to keep it that way, that you are willing to share? I would very much appreciate it, and I hope to read many more of your columns in the future.

When your hair is dry from frequent blow drying, try a Moroccan Oil Treatment. It's made of argan oil which is very nourishing and conditioning.
 

The Problem:  SUN DAMAGE 

Hi Courteney,

I grew up in Florida and spent every free moment at the beach or in the pool.  Now that I'm in my 30s, my skin is definitely showing the effects of all those super fun (and, unfortunately, sunscreen-less) days.  Any ideas for great products for sun damage?

Yep, that's my thumb

I too, was a sun worshipper and NIA 24 Niacin-Powered Skin Therapy helps with hyperpigmentation and has improved my skin's texture and tone. I'm actually a fan of all their products. Their sunscreen is great!

The Problem: LIP MOISTURE (or lack thereof)

Dear Courteney,

I feel like I apply chapstick twelve times a day and my lips still feel dry. What's an easy go to lip product that moisturizes and actually lasts?

Lip moisture: My favorite lip balm is made by Acca Kappa. It really stays on and also has an SPF. I like the vanilla flavored one.
