It's gonna get sappy up in here.
So, it’s 90 degrees here in Virginia. I don’t even know if you can call that spring, just global warming. Either way, there are parts of my bod now that have to be thrust into the sunlight after many months of hibernation. This calls for a beauty overhaul.
To begin with, I’m not one of those girls who’s like, revealed to be hot during the warmer months. You know, the babes who throw on a teeny sundress on the first nice day, and you’re like, “DAMN GURL, WHY YOU BEEN HIDING UNDER A PARKA ALL THIS TIME?” I insist on SPF 50 and a perpetual mom-butt via vintage Levi’s cutoffs.
But this season, I’m gonna try a little bit harder. Join me? I think we should start with our faces and work toward our feet.
For your mug:
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: This mask is magic. It blasts away little imperfections and leaves your skin baby soft. Also Tommy Lee Jones uses it, so, whatever that means to you.
If you do your mask during the day, make sure you follow up with SPF before you go out, because your skin will be extra-sensitive to the sun. I like this super light moisturizer with built-in protection.
Now, onto your body. Let’s do some exfoliation and futuristic moisturization (you’ll see).
This bar is POWERFUL and smells great, like a Hawaiian volcano party (a thing? Maybe). Pay extra attention to your elbows, knees, and behind, of course. Afterwards, follow up with my new favorite thing, spray-on lotion.
This (cheap) miracle lets you apply lotion and then put on clothes like, immediately. Perfect for hot, sweaty days. Thanks, science.
And finally, get a pedicure. Please. If you prefer to do it yourself, may I recommend:
This cute, portable smoother can be used wet or dry. I’ve found it to be very effective in a pinch.
This is the perfect overnight treatment. Slap some on under cotton socks and wake up to much prettier, softer feet.
Now I feel ready to bare my snow-white legs to the world. What’s your spring-cleaning beauty ritual?
