Urban Decay's Naked On The Run Kit Is Small But Mighty

Everything you need to touch up your makeup on the go is contained in this compact kit.

The Urban Decay Naked lineup is ever-growing and well hyped. I was a little late to the UD party (Naked 3 was my intro), but I've definitely come to appreciate and enjoy the quality of the brand.

When I heard about UD's new Naked On The Run kit (no association with Beyoncé's "On the Run" tour, unforch), I knew I had to give it a whirl!

What's Included (Hint: Just About Everything!)

This palette has pretty much everything you need to complete an entire look (save for foundation, powder, and brow makeup) while still being relatively compact and easy to carry in your purse.

The Shadows

In keeping with UD tradition, the shadows are very pigmented and blend really well. All of the shades, save for Dive, are very neutral and cool-toned.

However, I would like to have seen a dark matte shadow as opposed to the shimmery pink (Dive). Dive is a pretty shade, but I think a dark matte brown would have been more versatile (brow powder, shade to smoke out the liner with, additional crease color).

The Eye Pencil

I'm already a fan of the UD 24/7 Glide-on Eye Pencils. They're super pigmented, they're creamy enough to apply without dragging the skin around the eye, and they stay put.

The Mascara

I had never tried the Perversion Mascara, and while I can't say that it's spectacular (I still prefer my CK One Mascara or L'Oreal Voluminous Lashes), it's definitely a nice inky black and layers well to build lashes up.

The Blush, Bronzer & Highlight

The blush and bronzer are both well-pigmented and easily blended. I think they'd work well on fair to medium tones, but they wouldn't suit anyone darker than me. Anyone could use them as an eye shadow, though.

The gloss is very creamy and not too sticky (think MAC Creamsheen Glass or NYX Butter Gloss). Although it's not heavily pigmented, it works perfect for every day.

Overall I think this palette serves its "on the run" purpose. It has everything you need to create or touch up a look quickly. It's also a great for travel.
