Oh, don't pretend like you don't have one!
As someone who has a pretty extensive beauty routine, packing for vacation fills me with dread. I’m what I like to call an “Apocalypse” packer; brain filled with “what if?” scenarios that almost always lead to overpacking.
I went on a trip to see my youngest sister graduate and since I’d only be gone four days, I somehow managed to narrow down my beauty arsenal to travel-friendly essentials only.
Since I stayed with my sister and her mom, I didn't have to bog myself down with a bunch of hair products (I used their shampoo, conditioner, etc.). I just packed this serum to keep my curls looking fresh and frizz-free and finger-combed my short hair while there.
This cleanser is my favorite for traveling because it cuts through my makeup so well that I don’t have to pack my makeup remover as well. It’s gentle yet effective, and I don’t have to use very much to get the job done.
I rotate out a lot of different moisturizing products but I always come back to this oil because I can use it day and night. My face stays properly moisturized without getting too greasy.
I’m still trying to find my HG face sunscreen, but this is definitely a contender. I’ve been using it every day for the last two months, and I like that it doesn’t break me out or feel heavy and absorbs quickly into the skin.
I packed this travel-friendly dual stick in my carry-on. As I mentioned in my recent review, it has buildable coverage, so it's a great everyday foundation for the duration of a trip.
Colour Pop blush is great because it applies smoothly and easily and stays put all day without touch-ups (ideal for the California heat I was in). This shade is my absolute favorite because it’s a soft nude-pink and works well with so many different looks.
L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara (not pictured)
I’ve tried a lot of different mascaras, but I love this one the most. It gives me length and volume with a nice inky black tint. I go through tubes of this like it’s my job (which is why I don’t have one to take a picture of here).
If you’ve spent any amount of time reading the comments around here lately, then you already know that I love these lipsticks. The formula feels like a lip balm and can be worn sheer or built up to a fuller coverage. OK, so I took three with me (Ladyflower, Rapture, and Streak) to make sure I had my bases covered.
I bought this in February and I've fallen in love with it. Although it's not as crease-proof as my beloved MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, it provides good coverage and blends in so well.
Customized Eyeshadow Palette
I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes, but my own custom-built palette is perfect for me because it has all the colors I need to create any look I could want to while I’m on vacation. I can even use the black or dark brown shadows for liner.
What can’t you live without when you’re traveling? Any other Apocalypse packers out there?
