I'm obsessed with beach hair. I have more sea salt/wave creator/surf sprays than any other haircare product in my collection. Since moving to California I actually keep a spray bottle of Pacific Ocean water on hand to make sure beach waves are never more than a spritz away.

The problem with most of these sprays is that, while they make my waves look fantastic, they make my hair feel pretty crunchy. There are some exceptions, but perfect beach waves without the crunch are a rare find, if you ask me. I also don't like products that have "fake beach" smell — the ones that smell like fake coconut and sunscreen. What beach actually smells like that? I like my beaches to smell like ocean air.

Cue OGX Moroccan Surf Paste. I randomly stumbled on this the other day and had to take it home. Because why wouldn't I buy another beach hair product?

I was really surprised at how much I like it It's got sea salt and sea kelp in it, so you get that beachy texture, but it also contains argan oil so my hair feels moisturized.

One of the things I like the most about it is the texture. Because it's a paste, it's really good at controlling frizz. It's almost like a pomade, but more creamy. And it smells clean, and not overpowering.

My favorite way to wear it is by applying to wet hair and just letting my hair do its thing. The less I mess with it the better.

But it also happens to work as a great styling cream for when I'm putting loose waves in my hair. It's also great for touch-ups throughout the day if I feel like I need a boost to my volume and/or texture. In fact, I wish they'd come out with a travel size so I could toss it in my makeup bag.

My fingers are also crossed in hopes that they'll keep this product on the shelves year round. Luckily, I'm sure it will last many moons since you only need a teeny tiny amount to give your hair great texture.
