It's gonna get sappy up in here.
[I hope you come to know the Gala that I now know and love. In the meantime, I would love it if we can stick with the credo we started out This site with: Criticism is always welcome and carefully (too carefully, if anything) considered around here, but most important: let's support each other, not tear each other down. In life and on the site. Xo --Jane]
It's one thing to be inspired by a beauty editorial which takes hours, involves models (read: "perfect" symmetrical faces), top make-up artists, incredible lighting and fabulous photography. It's totally another to have your world rocked by a real girl who is making the best of her face. I am much more inspired by the way my friends use make-up than whatever beauty magazines are pushing this season.
So I decided to interview them & post lots of pictures of them. Yay!First up: Amy Doan (codename: Shrinkle) of Sugarpill Cosmetics. We have known each other for years and years. She used to make really colorful dresses and sell them on eBay, and has since progressed to owning her own cosmetics company. Sugarpill is legendary, making some of the most saturated pigments I've ever seen, and none of it is repackaged. She also does an AMAZING eye, which she often photographs & features on Instagram. (Follow her! Her username is shrinkle.) I've never seen anyone else wear color so well, which is why she's such an inspiration to me and thousands of others.Click through to see some of her over-the-top, artistic eye looks and read her answers to my questions.
