Yvonne
Yvonne has worked as a professional writer longer than she cares to admit to xoJane readers, writing restaurant and book reviews, feature stories and more. An essayist, who occasionally uncovers a poem while crafting prose, she’s also been in the field of education for 13 years and particularly enjoys teaching young people how to use the personal essay as a vehicle to explore their role in and relationship to the world around them. Yvonne is working on a series of essays about the raw truth of single motherhood, which helped her attain a Gardarev artist’s residency in Boston in 2011. She hopes to create a collection of essays and interviews with other Singular Mamas.
