Rebecca is a lawyer by day and often all night, though is much more passionate about cooking, food in general, wine, photography, world travel, and animals. She believes that her spirit animal is a ptarmigan, and would move to Alaska if she could get through the 11-month winters. In addition to her law degree, Rebecca also has a master’s in Turkish history. Her research interests include the secularization of Islamic and customary law, and the historical impact of rural development on women’s issues in Turkey, including honor killings in traditional villages (which she is against). When she can bear to be sedentary, Rebecca lives in Los Angeles with her Jack Russell terrier.
