In late July, Avaric was diagnosed with brain cancer. Seeing the words “brain cancer” still shocks me, wears me thin.
I’ve never been slut shamed. I have, however, been number judged. Or number doubted.
I was born with a rare condition called craniosynostosis, which caused one of the sutures (soft spots) of my skull to close early. As is with many children diagnosed with craniosynostois, my skull grew in a lop-sided fashion.

Unfortunately, losing one’s post-birth virginity is only a subject to be discussed between girlfriends. In hushed whispers. Luckily, I do kiss and tell.
