Black women are often under-and-misrepresented in traditional media, but digital platforms have provided space for women of color to counter mainstream media narratives. There are hundreds of blogs created by and for black women, but some of the best are left unread.
Publications geared toward women, specifically women of color, are not considered “serious” or “thought-provoking” enough to be included in the new, golden age of publishing.
There are numbers in the millions and billions and trillions … enough to make the most seasoned political junkie’s head whirl. But for those uninterested in politics, this will affect you as well.

I am one of the 74 percent of Americans who knows someone who has been a victim of domestic violence. I watched those episodes of “Maury” with the abusers and the drill sergeants and thought that this plateau of violence would never permeate my life.
