Briana Lawrence

At the age of nine, like most kids, I had a dream. I wanted to be the best "WRITTER" in the whole wide world. My fourth grade class laughed and wondered how one hoped to become a "writer" if they couldn't even spell the word.
This is my attempt at it.
I’ve gone from stories constructed with pencils and crayons, to notebook filled tales laced in purple and green pens.  This pushed me towards an English major full of Creative Writing classes and some Women’s Studies on the side.  Then there was the internet and fanfiction.  Oh, so much fanfiction.  Glorious stories of gundam pilots, ninjas who dressed in orange, and other geeky fandoms that are still near and dear to me.  Seriously, Tumblr is a dangerous place, just as dangerous as my Playstation and Crunchyroll subscription.
Thank goodness for a partner who understands.
Soon, I realized that I wanted to do more than write about my favorite characters being intimate in ways they weren’t in their series.  My mind was full of original plots, characters, and worlds that I wanted to share with others.  I’ve published a book (“Treat Me Kindly”) with two more on the way (“Double Hue” and “Seeking the Storyteller”), and I don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
I spend my days at a computer and my evenings doing geeky crafts with my partner.  Sometimes, we taunt our cats, because that’s a requirement in our household.  I spend my weekends at conventions, dressed as a Disney princess or any other character I feel like cosplaying.  It’s a wonderful, geeky, creative life, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Age:  30
What I Do, Job-wise: Writing, in any way, shape, or form.  Working on making a career out of it.
What I Do, Fun-wise:  Watching anime, playing video games, reading manga and comics.  Doing crafts, going to conventions, and being a black, plus sized cosplayer.
My Motto:  When something doesn’t go as planned, you’re allowed to be sad.  You’re allowed to be upset.  You’re allowed to need chicken nuggets and ice cream to comfort you.  Allow yourself a day like this, therefore, you can wake up the next day with no more tears in your eyes.
My Anti-Motto: You’re too (fill in the blank) to do (fill in the blank).  There should be nothing that stands in your way when it comes to doing the things you want.
The First Movie Star I Ever Had A Crush On: Will Smith.
My “celebs to make out with” list:  Idris Elba.  Angelina Jolie.  The cast of “Avengers.”  Natalie Portman.  There are probably more but this is what comes to mind… thank goodness you didn’t ask about video games or anime.
The Most Played Song On My iTunes: I don’t actually have iTunes, but the music I keep listening too currently is classic Sonic the Hedgehog music.
Last Book I Read Without Skimming Any Parts: The latest volume of “Black Butler.”
My Most Worn Item of Clothing: Anything with stripes.  Stripes are my favorite.
Beauty Products That I Hoard: I usually just wear make up for cosplay.
I smell like:  Cocoa Butter and Shea, currently.  The fragrance is subject to change.
I Have Faked An Orgasm (Yes/No):  I don’t think I ever had an orgasm until I met my partner.  Then again, I never went all the way with anyone until I met her.
