What do I actually get paid for? I am a hair & makeup artist / freelance beauty writer. I rely on spell check and good luck in my writing since hair & makeup really is my forte, but I've suckered many into paying me for writing and now that includes xoJane. Suckers! I kid. I feel honoured being amongst many of these talented writers whose stories have both have inspired and infuriated me.
Based in Singapore and with representation both in Asia and Canada, I have extensive print and runway experience leading hair teams for three seasons of L'Oreal Paris Fashion Week in Toronto and makeup teams in New York. I have worked in Canada, Singapore, USA, Paris (that would be France) and Thailand - hopefully more to come. I have also been another beauty chick on TV with on-air credits including Asia's Next Top Model (cycle 1, ep 6), Yahoo Asia's Glam Up, Canada’s Stylin' Gypsies (2 seasons), So Chic (5 seasons), Canadian Idol (2 seasons) and more. My work has been seen in campaigns for L'Oreal, Revlon, Lancome, and P & G and many magazines across the globe - etc etc blah blah blah
Celebrity clients have included: Rachael Yamagata, Lady Antebellum, Seal, The Bond Quartet, Linda Black, Oli Pettigrew, Angelique Teo, Miranda Richardson, Sarah Slean, Alanis Morissette, Bill Nighy, The Veronicas, Natalie Imbruglia, Dayle Haddon and more.
As a Canadian who has settled into Singapore 5 years ago, I've broken the ice with my bad deadpan sense of humour, been featured in Singapore's Motherhood magazine as part of their Inspiring Mums series (2011), awarded one of CozyCot's 100 Most Inspiring Real Women of Singapore (2011) and also competed on Cash Cab, Asia for a celebrity charity episode.
What do I smell like? A triple tall dry cappuccino from Starbucks.
