I dream of being a writer. I rotted away my elementary school years in special education life-skills classes, learning how to tell left from right and east from west, put on my coat, and count money. I was mainstreamed into regular classes for the first time at age 11, and never looked back. I made it through high school easily – academically, at least. After brief stints at three other universities, I graduated with a BA in English from the University of North Texas, a school you've probably never heard of. I am pierced, tattooed, and scarred.
I am now adjusting (badly) to my 30s and trying to make something of my life. I have lived with a guy for 13 years. We share a gray, green-eyed tabby cat, a Norwegian snow cat, and a little blonde guinea pig who we love dearly. I type with just one finger, and I still struggle with my directional skills and putting on my coat.
