Sassy was Rookie magazine’s smart precursor and essential reading for teenage girls in the early ’90s. Today, we revisit Sassy‘s “Dear Boy” column.
“Boy” according to the Sassy ethos, was a loose term referring to all members of the opposite sex, including Iggy Pop. Teenage girls wrote in seeking advice from cool boy band musicians who didn’t necessarily have it together, but were interesting.

If that didn’t get him to pick up the banana splits, then nothing could. Hopefully she cut her losses because this guy was destined to be the posterboy for the ambition gap. He now makes beats.
