Welcome back friends to another very special episode of Recipe of the Week. I'm extra excited this week, because we have theme and I love a theme, but we'll get to that in a moment. First, let's recap what happened last week.

You were tasked with sharing your favorite DIY condiments. Some of them were simple. Some were complex. All were delicious. But there can be only one winner, and this week that winner was RinnyLush with a little something she likes to call "Hot Dick Cream."

I don't have the exact measurements for it, but I really like making jalapeno/cilantro dip for just about any kind of finger food. In a food processor blend together a jalapeno, some cilantro, equal parts mayo and sour cream, a drizzle of olive oil, sea salt, black pepper, and a squeeze of lime juice. I use this for everything from a yam fry dip to sandwich spread.

Funny story - the first time I made this is was for a dick-themed pot luck. I made pigs in a blanket (but fancier, with nice sausages, smoked cheddar cheese, and egg wash and poppyseeds for the pastry) and used this for the dip. I called it "Morning Wood Roll-ups with Hot Dick Cream". Hilarious AND delicious.

I won the pot luck and have the gilded dildo trophy sitting on my bar at home.

I didn't make the Morning Wood Roll-Ups -- because I am lazy -- but I did take this little sauce out for a spin with some sweet potato fries, and I am happy to report that it is completely and utterly delicious. The combination of spicy jalapeno and cooling sour cream means you can keep coming back over and over, never getting over saturated with spice.

You could put this stuff on almost anything, and that thing would be the better for it.

Rinny already has a trophy -- a gilded dildo! -- for her Hot Dick Cream, but that doesn't mean she doesn't deserve another one. I've been waiting for the right time to award this particular song to someone, and I think this is that time.

I love celebrating Independence Day. I'm not a particularly patriotic person, but I do love eating a lot of watermelon, grilling meat, and getting drunk on American beer, so all in all the 4th of July works out really well for me.

I like to make a "freedom trifle" which really isn't technically a trifle at all, but chunks of pound cake layered with red and blue berries and whipped cream. It is delicious and festive and somehow I don't have a pic to show you.

Sorry about that.

Anyway, what I want from you is your favorite freedom-themed dish, bonus points if it's red white and blue. (If it's grilled meat though, it's probably best if it's just meat-colored.) If you aren't from the United States of America, feel free to share a recipe you like to eat outdoors while slightly drunk and dehydrated.
