There IS such a thing as an (almost) free lunch

food, healthy eating, free lunch, pure

No such thing as a free lunch eh? We beg to differ – this delicious spread was just delivered to greedy me and Rebecca from Pure to mark the opening of their latest branch on London's Shaftesbury Avenue. YUM.

The principle behind Pure is the food is all healthy and freshly prepared, which is terribly noble but a bit pointless if it doesn’t taste of anything. Luckily, it all tasted really good – fresh and with some surprising flavour combinations.

Our delicious lunch from Pure

I had a Spring Chicken wrap which was crammed with mozzarella and roasted courgette (never had that in a sandwich before, it was a revelation), a Pure Classic smoothie (strawberries, banana, organic skimmed milk, orange juice and honey) and popcorn.

Rebecca scoffed an Italian Job flatbread (mozzarella, sun-dried tomatoes, basil, avocado, pesto crème and baby leaf spinach) with a Zorba the Beet mini-side salad and a Detox juice which she described as ‘very beetrooty and delicious’.

So why am I telling you all this? Well to celebrate the opening of their third branch, Pure are issuing the ‘Pure Fiver’ which offers any customer that registers on their site £5 off any purchases on Friday 3rd August to redeem in store. Just go to and you’ll see a pop-up box that says ‘Register here for you £5 voucher’.
