Emily Carroll is a marvelous illustrator. You may know her as one of the collaborators on the Draw This Dress tumblr, whence the above image was taken, where she and the equally-wonderful Vera Brosgol take turns drawing historic fashion.

She also makes lovely, haunting comics, like "The Prince and the Sea," a creepybeautiful, dreamlike fairytale with an ending that is only 50 percent happy. Or "Anu Anulan & Yir’s Daughter," a gorgeous tale of love and sacrifice. Read them and feel glad that the Internet makes such wonderful stories instantly available to us all.
