OUTFIT OF THE WEEK: Lessons Learned

Ah, I'm always learning new things when it comes to dressing myself.

Hello all. You'll have to forgive me if this article is a little crummy this week, as I've been sick as a dog since Wednesday and am currently typing this under the influence of some nighttime cough syrup.

But enough about that! On to the clothes, which is why we're here. This week I learned some lessons about fashion. For one thing, socks are your friend, especially when it comes to wearing new, very sturdy leather loafers.

Yeah, on Tuesday I decided to go barefoot on in my new shoes and my heels paid the shredded price. Next time I'll be smarter. Next time.

I also realized that wrinkles on leather are way more noticeable out of doors than they are in my basement apartment, and learned that such wrinkles can be ironed out by placing a bit of fabric between the iron and leather and slowly pressing on medium heat. The skirt above looked smooth and good as new once I was done.

So, it's always good to learn new things, especially when they help you look better or at the very least feel better (at least in your foot region).

In terms of you guys, I really loved the look Shira put together last week -- all of the different textures and details, including that open-back on the sweater, are so eye-catching and wonderful.

Additionally, I was all about the professional meets va-va-voom look that commenter Mapsandpeaches put together. I'd hire her!

Your turn! Time to show me what you wore this week, and maybe tell me what lessons you've learned (if you have). I'm off to sink into a cold medicine coma.
