London Fashion Week AW/13: Day 2

And day two of London Fashion Week is ON. So far, I've spotted Liz Jones and my feet feel like they're about to fall off...

One of Manolo Blahnik's whimsical illustrations outside the main tent at Somerset House (while queuing waiting to go into my last show of the day, David Koma, which was awesome - skirts that looked like vinyl records that had been melted and shaped into panniers - insane.)

This was the best picture I could manage to take at Issa - but you can just about make out Cara Delevingne's legendary eyebrows and Suzy Menkes' famous quiff in the foreground!

And, in case you've been wondering what I've been wearing all day...

Here I am bright-eyed and bushy tailed first thing this morning in Gap khakis, a Uniqlo shirt, an old sweater and heels from ASOS:

Although as the day progressed, I had to modify my shoe choice slightly...

I'm a little bit in love with DAKS this season:

When I grow up I want to be a DAKS woman. I mean, just look at this collection – luxurious, sophisticated, inspired by Charlotte-freakin-Rampling – what more could you want? Soft, perfectly cut grey wool trousers, cropped gold lurex jumpers (worn over polo-necks, obvs – no bare midriffs here thank you very much), pleated knee-length skirts, and that iconic DAKS check popping up on capes and collars – it was all so chic and elegant.

As I’m trying to figure out my ‘grown-up’ style, I think I will be referring back to this show frequently for inspiration.

Aaaand, my first show report of the week, from Clements Ribeiro:

Every season Clements Ribeiro produce a collection that I would happily shove wholesale into my wardrobe.

For Autumn/Winter 2013-14 (ain’t that a catchy name for a season) they created this unbelievably cool Teddy Girl, complete with leopard drainpipe trousers, studded winkle pickers and floral-embellished bomber cardigans (I think I just invented a new garment, but that’s what they were, I promise!)

Everything looked so cool, comfortable and glam in a relaxed, not-trying-too-hard way. You won’t find any dangerous looking stilettos or chilly thigh-split frocks at a Clements show – these are clothes that are made for having fun. Oh I want it all…
