What? Coats cease to be practical when you already own five of them? OH HUSH.

I hope it's obvious to y'all that I am obsessed with the ASOS plus-sized fatshion-friendly Curve line. I am also obsessed with coats, a fact I blame on having spent the first 18years of my life in the idyllic South Florida suburb known as Pembroke Pines.

I never had coats growing up, because there was no need for such things when temperatures in the dead of winter rarely dipped below 60 degrees F. I didn't even have very many sweaters. I never owned a scarf until I moved to Boston, at which point I became rapidly intimate with scarf-wearing, to the point of having two drawers full of the things even as we speak.

For a long time I made do with army-surplus peacoats and parkas. But in recent years I've come to collect coats as I do scarves: in every style and color imaginable.

When you put all these factors together, it's little wonder than I am salivating over the ASOS Curve 70s Fit and Flare Coat in a delicious shade of chestnut.

LOOK AT ME, I'M AN EXTRA ON "LIFE ON MARS"! it says. I love a belted coat especially, as I am constantly annoyed by messing with buttons in the cold, and zipper coats are anathema in my style universe. Call me strange.

You can find the above gorgeous creature at ASOS.com in sizes 16-22, but as always keep in mind I wear a US women's 26 and fit their 22s all the time, so your mileage may vary.
