It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a Wang open-toed sandal?

The vibe at Alexander Wang's fall collection was futuristic and surprisingly feminine within the confines of his usual tomboyish silhouettes. The collection opened with asymmetric anoraks and ponchos with longer backsides that trailed the models as they stomped down the runway, a new version of urban super(sexy)heroes.

Wang took things one step further though, by fabricating tiny leather capes that attached via an ankle strap to his barely-there strappy sandals.

"What a useless addition to a shoe!" you think, but you are wrong! These contraptions serve to protect the back of your feet from disgusting puddle water, wayward loogies and the occasional pee-splash from when you squat down in a hidden corner somewhere cause the line to the bathroom is like an hour long. (When you gotta go, you gotta go.)

But mostly, they are a ridiculously fun addition to your wardrobe and the best way to showcase your hidden superpowers without having to wear a slutty Wonder Woman costume on Halloween.
