SUMMER BEAUTY ROUND-UP: The Products I Use For That So-Called "Natural" Look

Yeah, I'm reppin' that whole "no-make-up make-up" thing.

I've gotten pretty good at doing my make-up quickly and efficiently. What it comes down to is how I want to spend my time. Do I want to sleep in an extra 15 minutes in the morning and do my make-up in a snap? Yes. Yes I do.

Otherwise I'll end up painting my face on the bumpy-ass bus and find that I look like a kindergartener was given free reign to draw all over me. Not cute.

You can look like this in like 8 minutes. (I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing, though.)

Add all this in to the fact that it's summer and I'm sweaty as hell, and you've got an equation that equals "I don't want to cake a bunch of make-up on my greasy face." So I've pared down my make-up look for the season in favor of products that get the job done quickly and still leave me looking polished.

Yeah, it's that whole "no make-up make-up" look. You, but better. Blah, blah. The point is, using these products means I won't walk out of the house looking like a total garbage truck.

Clockwise from top left: Skindinavia No More Shine Make-Up Finish, Lush Charisma Skin Tint, RMS Beauty Living Luminizer, Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Negligee Pink 256.

1. Lush "Charisma" Skin Tint ($18.95,

I wrote about Lush's new color line recently and this product is one of the standouts for me. A creamy bronze tint that I can smear on with my fingers (dirty, don't care) to give the effect of "cheekbones" and keep me from being a washed-out pale monster. Makes me look like I'm actually, you know, having a life this summer instead of wilting under the fluorescent lights of my college campus. Pretty.

2. RMS Beauty Living Luminizer ($38,

Considered to the be the gold standard of highlighting creams by fancy beauty people, and considered to be "da bomb" by me, this stuff is killer. It melts into you skin and gives the dreamiest, sexiest glow without being gooey or clogging pores. I dab it on my browbones, "cheekbones" (again, they're barely there but this helps!), down the bridge of my nose (for a slimming effect) and on my cupid's bow. Then I revel in how ethereal-lookin' I am.

3. Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in Negligee Pink 256 ($28,

I'm not a huge gloss person, but this stuff is so easy-breezy and not sticky at all, and it just blends into the natural shade of my lips so wonderfully while still enhancing them that I've fallen for it. Plus, the name makes me feel like I've got fancy French lingerie for my LIPS.

4. Skindinavia No More Shine Make-Up Finish ($19 for 2 oz.,

My skin is dry by nature but gets really sweaty and icky in the summer, to the point of slickness. This make-up setting spray keeps everything in place so I can do sports or something. Just kidding. Ew, moving.

What else do I add to the mix? Brow powder, a bit of Becca duo concealer to any trouble spots and, after curling lashes, some of that Essence liner I was on about. Bon. Fini.

So my dears -- what products do you turn to when the heat soars? And how do you keep cool if you're, like me, without A/C? I've grown pretty fond of putting wet washcloths in the freezer and then draping them all over myself like a lazy woman of leisure.
