The Regimen That's Going to Help Me Take My Skin Seriously This Year

I’m feeling pretty dedicated to making some big changes when it comes to all my bad habits.

2015 was not a good year for me in any dimension, not even when it came to my skincare routine. I fell into some really bad new habits, including but not limited to nightly pizza binges, late nights and even later sleep-ins, and a total lack of positive structure. Seriously, brushing my teeth started to feel like a struggle, and by the time New Year's Eve rolled around, I could barely remember the last time I washed my face.

Yeah, it got that bad.

Luckily, here we are in 2016, and I’m feeling pretty dedicated to making some big changes when it comes to all my bad habits. I’m attempting to kick smoking with an epic juice cleanse this month, I’ve invested in a fancy new blender to make morning smoothies, and I’m getting back on track with my skincare regimen. No more waking up with eyeliner on my sheets (not to mention in my eyes).

2016 will henceforth be known as the year I started to take my skin seriously.

Without further ado, here's my new favourite skincare superstar lineup.

Mario Badescu Makeup Remover Soap

All of our skincare nightmares begin with sleeping in the previous day’s makeup, am I right? This soap is super-gentle, leaves skin extra-soft, and it really gets everything off. Plus, it’s pink.

Mario Badescu Oil Free Moisturizer

A good moisturizer is the key to a bright and glowing face, especially this time of year. I love the creamy, oil-free texture of this formula, not to mention the convenience of built-in SPF 30.

Glossier Coconut Balm Dotcom

I constantly have dry, cracked lips, and this stuff is the only thing that seems to make a dent in my suffering. Bonus: it smells like surf wax, and you can use it on any other dry spots (like cuticles) too!

Glossier Masks

I’ve never been one to put aside time to mask, but these two products are so seriously addictive.

If you’re feeling the effects of winter’s fury, the Moisturizing Moon Mask will have you thanking your lucky stars. And if you’re not really succeeding at your New Year’s detox, the Mega Greens Galaxy Pack formulation will get you back on track.

Tip: I happen to think these work best while binge watching Pretty Little Liars.

Mario Badescu Silver Powder and Drying Lotion

I’m pretty lucky when it comes to the state of my skin considering how badly I’ve been treating it, but even with my new habits, I’m bound to get a blemish and some blackheads here and there. This dynamic duo is seriously unbeatable when it comes to diminishing clogged pores and red spots, and I don’t know what I’d do without them!
