These are my favorite ways to rinse off summer stickiness.
I don’t know about you, but for me, summer just isn’t summer until I’ve broken out my favorite summery beauty products. Everyone has their favorite products that they love to use in the warmer months, whether because of the tropical scent, cheery color, or simply nostalgia.
Inspired by the new limited-edition Neutrogena Visibly Clear® Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash, here are my top 5 classic summer beauty products.
1. Face wash: Neutrogena Visibly Clear® Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash
After a long summer day of sweat, sunscreen, and makeup accumulating on my face, I need a facial wash I can rely on, and this is my new favorite.
First off, how cute is the limited-edition packaging? (Big thumbs up to the designer, Danielle Romeril!) That alone makes this a summertime classic.
I also like the contents, and I’m picky about cleansers. I have sensitive, dry skin but this face wash didn’t irritate it or dry it out even with daily use. The gel felt gentle and refreshing to use. That’s not to say that it’s not a powerful cleanser, however. Thanks to this formula, I cleared some of the stubborn blackheads on my nose, and I also noticed fewer red spots and bumps. My skin looked fresher, clearer and healthier after using this.
The invigorating pink grapefruit scent was the final clincher to make this the cleanser I reach for every day this summer.
2. Sea salt spray: Bumble and bumble Surf Spray
This is the number-one product that makes me miss having hair! I love spraying in some sea salt spray on dry or wet hair, tousling it, and then running out the door. It’s the ideal summer hairstyle: sexy texture without any effort.
Since my own hair is too short to use it right now, I’ve been introducing my sisters to this spray. They love it, too; there probably won’t be any left for me once my hair is grown out.
3. Bright lipstick: Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti
I love a bright, bold lip but in the winter I tend to stick to dark red or purple shades. Only in the summer do I feel the urge to wear hot pink or bright orange lipstick.
I like this particular one because it’s slightly sheer but buildable, and hydrating without being sticky. Try the shade Tutti Frutti to feel extremely summery.
4. Body scrub: Soap & Glory Flake Away Body Scrub
Between baring my legs in short skirts and exfoliating for self-tanner, I have a dire need for a good body scrub in the summer. This one is my favorite because it’s effective while not being too rough, and actually helps hydrate my skin. Best of all is the smell, which is an intoxicating blend of fruity and floral notes.
5. Coconut body oil: Ogx Coconut Oil Weightless Hydrating Oil Body Mist
Speaking of summery scents, what smells more warm weather-appropriate than coconut? I love this body mist because it’s a dry oil that's immediately absorbed by the skin, leaving it hydrated, soft, and smelling like coconuts. It’s like a tropical vacation in a bottle.
