4 Ways To Feel (And Look) Better Naked

Stripping down--whether you're alone or with someone else--can be pretty scary. But learning to be comfortable and confident in your body is an invaluable effort for many reasons, not the least of which is that being naked is hot and fun. And you should want your life to be as hot and fun as possible.

Here’s some advice on how to feel as hot as possible while naked.

1. Exfoliate and moisturize as often as you can.

I discovered Naples Soap Co. soon after my parents moved to southwest Florida, and I’ve been addicted to their products ever since. I’m obsessed with the Lavender Vanilla Sea Salt Scrub, made with a blend of oils, shea butter, Vitamin E, and sea salt. Using this stuff, you wont' be able to keep your hands off yourself.

If you deal with body acne (I get it bad if I eat too much dairy), I recommend Neutrogena Body Clear Body Scrub. The salicylic acid formula is too strong for my face, but works like a charm on my bod.

I’ve also become a huge fan of Nivea Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion. I’m a skeptic when it comes to “firming” claims, but this stuff makes my skin feel moisturized, supple, and even slightly more toned. My mom swears by it, too!

2. Add scent where it counts.

If you’re going to wear a fragrance, dab it lightly on your pulse points (neck, inner wrists, behind your knees, inner elbows, and behind your ears), where body heat will naturally help the scent last longer.

3. Avoid foods that bloat you.

To prevent bloat or gas, avoid salty food or processed food, artificial sugar, and soda, as well as too many carbs or legumes. Learn how your body reacts to different foods so you’ll know which ones you need to avoid pre-naked time. (For me, this means dairy, red meat, or beer.)

4. Spend some time with your naked self.

The best advice I can give you for looking and feeling your best naked is to spend some quality time with yourself in the buff. Learn the curves of your body. Run your hands over your skin. Look at yourself in the mirror and allow yourself to be totally awed. Self-love might not come easy, but it's an absolute essential.

5. Never, ever spend naked time with someone who makes you feel bad about your body.

Because eff that.
