I basically called my mom for help. Except when I say mom, I mean an esthetician.
I've been a HUGE fan of Cake Beauty for years. Or 176 weeks according to Instagram, whatever that means.
Cake Beauty is a Canadian company known for their incredibly rich creams, body scrubs, shower gels and dry shampoos, but it's one specific product that really hooked me in.
It all started with a bottle of their Snow Woman Body Mousse: a pink, shimmery vanilla cream I swear could have been edible. I'd never come across a product that smelled so richly of vanilla, and not the overly processed, fake, sweet kind. It legit smelled like cupcake batter, or a big dollop of icing.
I remember they had packaging similar to Philosophy bath and shower gels — the big, plastic bottles — which made me feel like I was getting a lot of product for what I paid. I bought two large bottles and was devastated when they flew off the shelves, only to return the next holiday season.
The scent I fell in love with has since been repackaged in different ways, but the most important part — that decadent vanilla — remains the same. (I've always been a sucker for super-sweet gourmand scents.)
After my initial introduction to Cake's Snow Woman the year before, I practically ran to the store as soon as the holiday season hit again. The big bottles of the past season were gone, but the hand cream they'd introduced was more travel-friendly and still encased the velvety vanilla scent I loved. I couldn't pass up purchasing the most delicious-smelling hand cream I've ever come across, even if it did cost nearly $20 dollars a tube.
I squandered it until I dipped into the store a few weeks later to see my new obsession on sale for something, like, eight bucks. I grabbed as many tubes as I could without feeling like a total weirdo... and then grabbed a few more. I ended up with about nine tubes, and I still have some left over.
I've become known for this decadent vanilla scent over the years, and it's all thanks to having a tube of Cake hand cream on me at all times. I have to say, I don't hate it.
