It's gonna get sappy up in here.
Sometime tonight, snow is supposed to start falling here in New York, build up to blizzard levels tomorrow, and cool it (warm it?) early Sunday morning. I actually learned mere moments ago that it's being called "Snowstorm Jonas," and I'm relieved that the internet has already saved me the trouble of badly assembling a graphic like this:
As someone who doesn't own a car, I always look at an impending snowstorm less with a sense of panic and more with a sense of wonder. I love when snow starts to accumulate on the city streets, before the plows and dog piss come and muck it all up.
Whoever wrote that line for Vanessa Williams is right! Snow does make everything beautiful. And it gives you the opportunity to make yourself even more beautiful, because if you're stuck inside, you might as well break out the beauty treatments.
My dog, Rufus, and I are planning to head over to my boyfriend's place tonight (well, I'm planning — I don't know if dogs have the ability to plan) and probably not come back until Sunday, depending on the snow accumulation. But I'm not going over without an arsenal of products he and I can both enjoy (or that I can force him to try to enjoy): face masks, hair masks, foot exfoliants, massage oils, nail implements and polish, etc.
Basically, I'm going to turn his living room into the shittiest spa in Brooklyn.
So, if you end up getting snowed-in this weekend, what beauty treatments will you indulge in? Let's talk about snow-day beauty treatments and any other stuff you want in this Open Thread!
