7 Ways To Treat Yo’ Self When 'Parks And Recreation' Is Over

This is going to be harder than saying goodbye to Lil’ Sebastian.

Since its premiere, Parks and Recreation has been my favorite show on television. I think it’s one of the most joyful pieces of entertainment ever created and it will leave a national-park-size, waffle-shaped hole in my heart when it ends tonight, after a six-year, seven-season run.

In honor of the show’s departure, I’ve compiled a list of ways to “Treat Yo’ Self” in a post-Pawnee world.

Celebrate Your Inner Ben Wyatt Dork With A Game Of Thrones-Themed Bath

Ben’s commitment to all things nerdy is half of his undeniable charm. His Game of Thrones knowledge is encyclopedic, and what better way to make Ben proud than to use this dragon-inspired bath bomb from Lush? Fill your bathtub with the scents of citrus and bergamot as the water fizzes and soothes your skin. Imagine you’re the Mother of Dragons. It’s a powerful mental affirmation.

Apply Your Makeup With An Applicator Tom Haverford Would Approve Of

“How do you make any event classy on a budget? Red carpet. My entire apartment is red carpet. On top of that, leading into my bedroom, a second red carpet. Oh, what’s this in my shoe? Red carpet insole. Everywhere I go, I’m walking on red carpet.”--Tom Haverford (Season 4, Episode 11)

In that spirit, why apply your makeup with anything less classy than the red carpet? Grab the red.carpet beautyblender to flawlessly apply your foundation or CC/BB/whatever-have-you cream. Make Tom proud.

If You’re Gonna Shave, Shave Like A Man

Ron Swanson would never shave his mustache (he prefers removal by friction, as you’ll remember) and he would never shave anything below the neck because that is “for women,” but if he did, I think he’d use this fancy, manly shaving kit from The Art of Shaving--and there's nothing stopping you from using it "for women." The set includes a gorgeous, chrome-plated razor with a trio of unscented pre-shave oil, shaving cream, after-shave balm, as well as a badger hair brush. It’s the best of the best, but not too flashy. Ron would approve.

Take a Mysterious Bath That Andy And April Could Agree On

Since their surprise wedding, Andy and April have quickly proved themselves one of the most endearing couples on television. Though Andy is an eager-to-please puppy of a man and April is clearly Daria all grown up, they could both agree on the appeal of Lush’s Phoenix Rising Bath Bomb.

With a spicy apple and cinnamon scent that would thrill Andy with thoughts of Christmas and pie, the bath bomb turns the water a dark, wine purple with just enough hints of sparkly gold to appease April. Grab the Burt Macklin (FBI) to your Janet Snakehole and jump on in together.

Try An At-Home Spa Treatment That Donna Would Love

Donna embodies the true Treat Yo' Self attitude, from her cherished BMW to her enviable spa days. Hook yourself up with an at-home treatment like bliss Triple Oxygen Instant Energizing Eye Mask to keep yourself looking fresh to death, even if you were up all night with your new man. Or stuffing envelopes. No one will know!

Spray On A Perfume So Fancy It’s Fit For Lil’ Sebastian Himself

Everyone’s favorite miniature horse (may he rest in peace) deserves the best and only the best. Enter Hermès Calèche Perfume, the ideal blend of warm and fresh that’s perfect for day or night. Created by Guy Robert in 1961, Calèche’s top notes of aldehydes give it that classic “perfume” smell so many of us associate with the older, fancier women in our life while a warmer, woodsy base keeps it contemporary and sexy. It’s a classic for a reason, just like Lil’ Sebastian. He was truly five thousand candles in the wind.

Finally, To Channel Your Inner Leslie Knope

Eat all the waffles. You deserve it. Waffles make you beautiful. Everyone knows that.

  • Do you guys love Parks and Rec, too? Are you sad about its end?
  • Who’s your favorite character?
  • Whoops, I forgot Larry/Jerry/Gary/Terry.
