It's gonna get sappy up in here.
What can I say? It has been an absolute pleasure, but today is my last day as managing editor of xoVain.
Here’s the TL;DR version: I’ve taken a job as editor of Business Insider’s lifestyle channel (fun fact: I worked on the luxury lifestyle beat for five years before coming here) and your old pal Marci is stepping in to keep the ball rolling at xoVain.
That's it. No other news to report, except that I will truly miss this place. The beauty, kindness, and, well, community of this community (especially in LOTW) is pure magic. Being a part of it has meant everything to me.
Before I hang up my hat, a few thank-yous:
Thank you to former xoVain EIC Anne-Marie, who way back when gave me my first shot in this industry. As a leader, you are extremely fair, generous, and honest. As an editor and writer, you are intimidatingly talented. I do my best work when I’m sitting next to you. I'm so glad we're friends.
Thank you to Jane, who didn’t know until now that during my phone interview with her I was gripping the hell out of my pen to control my nerves and keep my voice from shaking. I can’t believe I get to tell people that I know you!
And thank you to all of the xoWriters and the xoCommunity, because all of xoVain’s growth (and baby, we have quadrupled!) is due to you. You’ve delighted me, you’ve enlightened me, you’ve corrected me, and, trite as it may sound, you’ve helped me come out of my shell.
<3 <3 <3 forever and ever… So. Many. Emotions.
Take care of each other and keep shining bright, beauties. This thread is open--and it's all yours.
