It's gonna get sappy up in here.
I decided to change things up a bit this week and — are you ready for this? — shoot the products against a variety of soothing muted colors.
Let's just jump right in, shall we?

Youngblood Mineral Primer
This is a brand that doesn't get nearly enough attention. I'm currently in love with their Luminous Creme Blush, and this primer is shamelessly seducing me into a Youngblood love triangle. Although, like many primers, it contains dimethicone to do its job, it also contains a bunch of complexion-beautifying minerals, like smithsonite, rhodochrosite, malachite, and hematite.

CLEAN says this fragrance is "inspired by a spirited confidence that awakens when you realize your true potential," but for me, personally, that smells like gasoline, and this perfume doesn't. Instead, it features notes of fig, ginger, lemon, mandarin, cardamom, mint, sandalwood, cedarwood, and musk. So... close?

FLIRT Chicksticks Lip Duo Kit
This set's seemingly unrelated two shades — Pauly, a bright pink, and Franky, a very deep plum — are meant to convey Amber Rose's lipstick mood swings. Both create a semi-glossy yet opaque finish, and I'm really interested in seeing what happens when the two colors are layered.

Alba Botanica Fast Fix Camu Camu Anti-Wrinkle Sheet Mask
I love a good cheap one-off sheet mask, especially when it boasts an ingredient I don't normally see boasted. (Boast is a weird word.) This under-$4 mask features camu camu, an Amazonian botanical, as well as cocoa and caffeine to help reduce the look of lines.

Artis Palm Brush
Artis must have been tired of everyone saying their makeup brushes looked like toothbrushes because now they've come out with a makeup brush that looks like a turtle. It works for applying both complexion makeup and body makeup, and also just feels really nice to hold for no particular reason.

DHC Germanium Trial Kit
No, germanium is not a typo of geranium. Germanium is a metalloid element, and it makes this lotion and cream capable of boosting oxygen at the skin's surface so your skin looks glowier.

Glop: Nontoxic, Expensive Ideas That Will Make You Look Ridiculous and Feel Pretentious
Bless Gabrielle Moss for writing the GOOP parody so many of us had casually swimming around in our minds: "Glop is about being conscious to the tiny details of our lives — what to eat, where to buy your cashmere yoga pants, which juice cleanse will remove the most mercury toxins from both your body and your cashmere yoga pants."

I love any gift set that doubles as an excuse for you to try some products you'd been thinking about but didn't know if you'd like them so here's a deal on those products. This Buxom set comes with 6 shimmery plumping glosses, and also challenges your mind by making you wonder, What does "6 degrees below sexy" even mean?

Jurlique Rose Hand Cream Handpicked 2016
A handpicked hand cream? That is so freakin' meta, Jurlique. I love that they say they "extracted the liquid life force from our 2016 Rosa gallica harvest" to make this formula, because it sounds like the plot of an alien abduction movie. But if that's what it takes to make a hand cream this good, then by all means, abduct away.

Farmhouse Fresh A La Mode All Purpose Shea Butter Balm
Perhaps the best thing about this balm is that, because it's all-purpose, it comes in a tin much larger than that of a lip balm. But it still looks like a lip balm tin — just gigantic. So you can put some on your lips and pretend to be tiny or something.

Kiehl's x Faile Creme de Corps Grapefruit Body Butter
SUCKER FOR PACKAGING ALERT. Also: SUCKER FOR PHILANTHROPY ALERT. Artist collaboration Faile has teamed up with Kiehl's to redesign the packaging on several favorite items for a limited-edition collection that raises money for Feeding America. This body butter is only one of the beautifully labeled items, so check out everything else here.

Flowerful by Flower Eye'm Ready Collection
Y'all, this set of five mini Eyeshadow Chubbies is under $5. Like, how is that even possible? Maybe they saved money by not hiring someone to come up with cute names for each color, because they're just listed as beige, taupe, dark grey, gold, and dark green.

Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture Custom Hair Masque Cocktail Kit
I love the concept of this set so much. You start off with the Wonderful Deep Conditioning Masque, which, as the name implies, is wonderful on its own, but then, depending on your specific hair concerns, you can add a few drops of Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Coconut Oil, or Brassica Seed Oil. (Don't worry, it comes with a guide to help you decide which one[s] to use.)

MUA Under-Eye Illuminator
This is not a concealer. This a post-concealer-make-concealer-betterer. It may sound like a silly extra step, but I get it. Sometimes, even after I cover dark circles, I'm still looking asleep AF. This takes the extra step to wake you up a little more by deflecting light away dullness.

It comes only in this color, whatever that may be, but it supposedly works on every skin tone.

Kiko Milano 2-in-1 Bronzer & Highlighter
Ever just want to look at a pretty compact and not bother with what's inside? I was tempted to with this. But what's inside is worth taking a break from creepily staring at an inanimate object.

It's like "I'm a bronzer, I'm a bronzer, I'm a bronzer, JUST KIDDING I'M A LITTLE BIT HIGHLIGHTER, TOO." I'm not sure how they decided on just how much highlighter to bake into this compact, but if the imperfect border and unequal amounts of color won't upset you on a visceral level, this is really a very lovely product.

Pacifica Mini Body Butter Duo Ornament Stocking Stuffer
These little body butters — Indian Coconut Nectar and Tuscan Blood Orange — come in a box with a loop on it so you can hang it like an ornament from you Christmas tree. Is that a thing people do? Hang moisturizer from their Christmas trees? There's so much I don't know about Christmas.

Milk Makeup Triple Threat Glow Set
I love that Milk has combined two skincare products —mini Face Mist and mini Sunshine Oil — and a makeup item — mini Highligher — into this gift set because, while they may be from two different beauty categories, they all share one purpose: making you as glowy as goddamn possible.

I'm sorry, but there is something so inherently hilarious about the name Phlur. It's like someone is saying "fleur" while sneezing. But then I stop laughing when I see how effing gorgeous their packaging is and how beautifully complex their fragrances are, and I have to take it seriously. About this particular fragrance, they say, "You may never know what makes up Hanami, but you won’t forget it either." Well, don't threaten me with a good time!

Snowberry New Radiance Face Serum
Isn't it awesome when a brand finds a way to put powerful ingredients into a not-super-expensive serum? This one features an inflammation-fighting copper peptide that has been shown over and over again in clinical trials to be damn good at smoothing skin. And it's just $36.
Wasn't that relaxing? But more importantly, wasn't that inspiring? Surely you found something you can gift to a friend, or something you want for yourself. Let's talk about that, as well as products you didn't see here that you're buying for yourself and others this season.
