Here at xoVain, we cover lots of luxurious, high-end brands. But we also pay equal attention to drugstore beauty finds. And it’s not just because we’re looking out for those readers who may be on a budget. The fact is, often the basic beauty option is just as good as--if not better than--its more expensive counterpart. This year, some of our favorite drugstore beauty brands really hit it out of the park.

1. L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner

Rachel tested L’Oreal Paris Advanced Haircare Color Vibrancy Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner on her bleached blonde hair and reported back with incredible results. (Spoiler alert: these will help you achieve American-Girl-doll hair for only about $5 each.)

2. Got2b Oil-licious Calm And Shine Styling Oil

Affordable argan oil that works just as well as the expensive brands? Yes, please. We have Trista to thank for alerting us to the existence of Got2b Oil-licious Calm And Shine Styling Oil. At only around $7, it’s a total steal that will make your hair shiny and smooth.

3. Wet n Wild Foundation

I’ve always known Wet n Wild was a great brand, but I never thought to try its foundation until Trista sang the praises of Wet n Wild Coverall Cream Foundation. It offers dewy, long-lasting, buildable coverage. Basically, it's everything you could ask for at $4.

4. Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Leather 24hr

Sable reviewed the new Maybelline Color Tattoo line inspired by leather and loved it, especially the shades Vintage Plum, Chocolate Suede, and Dramatic Black. Try them out for 24-hour, crease-free wear.

5. Yes To Coconuts

Kara’s review includes lip oil, eczema-relief spray, cleansing wipes, and more from the Yes To Coconuts line--all at or under $10! They came in handy for Kara during her summer beach adventures, but we have a feeling they’ll be just as useful in winter.

6. Milani Lash Art Colored Mascara

This colored mascara in Bella Blue looked as gorgeous on Alle as it did in its fabulous packaging.

7. e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit

I’ve covered a lot budget picks for xoVain this year, and e.l.f. has quickly cemented itself as one of my favorite affordable beauty brands. Their $3 Eyebrow Kit is perfect. It comes in several different shades and includes a gel, setting powder, and brush. Everyone needs one of these kits.

8. Essential Elements Scented Candles

The next time you’re at CVS, do yourself a favor and pick up an Essential Elements candle. They come in a wide variety of amazing scents, but my personal favorite is the Lavender and Cedarwood candle.

9. L’Oreal’s New Infallible Eye Crayons

These pencils work well as a liner or even as a highlighter. Alle especially loved the shade Resilient Green, which made her eyes sparkle.

10. Broadway Nails imPress Press-On manicure sets

Hannah wrote about these awesome press-on nails for Halloween, but the Hollywood Satin set would make for a gorgeous, under $10-manicure anytime of the year.
