I love comedy, I love beauty culture, and I love it when the two combine.

TV, comedy, Amy Schumer

Amy Schumer is a witch who can peer into my the chaos of my soul and turn all the darkness she finds into hilarious sketch comedy. At least that’s how I assume her process works. I can’t think of another reasonable explanation for gems like "Night Terrors" that speak so specifically to my experience. It’s eerie.

Whatever her process is, it’s working. The third season of her sketch comedy show, Inside Amy Schumer, premiered on April 21--and Comedy Central ordered a fourth season on the same day. She won a Peabody for the series in 2014. This July, she’ll star in her first movie, Trainwreck, which she also wrote.

I love comedy, I love beauty culture, and I love it when the two combine. Beauty is a recurring theme in Schumer’s comedy, and she skewers the industry, gender norms, and our own delusional desires.

Marci already showed you "Girl, You Don't Need Makeup," Schumer’s masterful response to all those pop songs where the girl is naturally beautiful and doesn’t need makeup. (If you haven’t seen it, go watch it now!) But Schumer is so prolific that I don’t even need to include that video in this list her top beauty sketches thus far.
