Salon quality nails without the salon quality small talk!
When I moved in with my friend Meghan, one of the most exciting aspects was living with her kitty, Fizzgig.
I love cats, and Fizzgig is a very special one; he's very pretty, as you can see, but kind of dimwitted. He forgets how doors work and sometimes misses the table when he tries to jump up on it. And he's a talker! When I work from home, I talk and sing to him all day. We are besties who like to cuddle on the couch and watch bad TV together.
Fizzgig is not declawed, which means that sometimes he gets bored with his scratching posts (what a diva) and instead likes to scratch at the couch or the carpet on the stairs. Not cool, Fizzy!
Meghan got tired of scolding him for this behavior and purchased some Kitty Caps on her last trip to PetSmart. Well, we also wanted him to have fancy nails like ours.
Kitty Caps come in a variety of sizes depending on the weight of your cat. You can get them in clear, but the colors are way more fun. They even come in a glow-in-the-dark version!
All you do while applying Kitty Caps is fill the little claw-capsule half full with the provided adhesive, then gently slide the capsule over the claw, exposing as much of their natural claw as possible. It doesn’t hurt them, and the glue is harmless.
Fizzgig sits very patiently during this process, which is a wonder. Meghan only does his front claws; there's no use doing the back. He doesn't even notice that they're on once applied. The Kitty Caps will fall off as the claws grow, and they last about four to eight weeks.
I decided I wanted to match my kitty friend, so I went with my trusty imPRESS Press On Nails in It Girl, a shimmery purple. They're not an exact match with Fizzy's grape shade, but it's good enough for me!
I feel kind of like I'm a pageant mom or something. I think next time we will do pink!
Please tell me you think this is as adorable as I do, and start posting cat pics NOW.
