I tend to make an event out of every Clueless viewing. Even in my youth, watching this '90s classic required a gaggle of girlfriends and lots of pre-watching anticipation.

The last time I watched it was with a group of friends at a local bar that screens old movies. We all dressed in '90s appropriate attire and the bar even had a makeover station, which, as you'd guess, involved lots of glitter. I've also watched the film alone plenty, usually while deep-conditioning my hair, painting my nails or drinking pink champagne. Or all of the above.

It's inarguably an iconic film—still smart and applicable today—and I don't foresee myself ever growing bored of it. And seriously, can we talk about how Alicia Silverstone was born to play that role?

To celebrate Clueless turning 20 this weekend, I opted for a fun mani and gif session.

Paint your index and ring fingers a bubblegum pink (I used Urban Outfitters UO Nail Polish in Rodeo Sweetheart), pinky finger a shimmery dark red (I used Dr.'s Remedy Nail Polish in Revive), middle finger yellow (I used Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Nail Color in Mellow Yellow) and thumb a powdery blue (I used Polish & Co in Get Over It).

Using a nail brush and a dark blue polish (I used Londontown Lakur Enhanced Color in Smashing Majesty), paint vertical and horizontal stripes as pictured above. This, of course, pays homage to Cher's famous yellow plaid ensemble.

Still using a nail art brush, paint a dark red heart on the center of your thumb (I used NCLA Nail Lacquer in Rodeo Drive Royalty). This heart is inspired by Tai's outfit, below.

With a red nail polish and tool, carefully write out short phrases from Clueless. I opted for the classics: Ugh! As if! (Also a good fit: "What" on one nail and "EVER!" on the other.)

Finally, use a white polish to create a collar at the top of your pinky nail to pay honor one of Dionne's cutest outfits. Also use the white nail polish to trace the heart on your thumb. (The heart looks a little dark to me, so I would probably using something brighter if I were to recreate.)

Wait a solid 10 minutes for everything to dry, then finish with your favorite top coat. (I always opt for Seche Vite.)
