Since I'm a visual person I hardly ever remember the album title but I just remember what the album art looks like.
I'm not going to lie: I tend to stick to traditional colors when it comes to my lips. I love a classic, blue-leaning red, soft pinks, berries, sheer MLBBs, and blushing nudes. In fact, my definition of "branching out" involves a pop of orange, neon pink or subtle purples, and that's typically as far as I'll go.
All that said, you can imagine my reaction when trying on the new Lip Tar shades from Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' spring and summer collection, which features six limited-edition colors that marry floral pastels with some pretty strange psychedelics, including a duochrome and a near-radioactive lime green.
My general opinion is that every color is as weird as it is pretty, and that while I would probably never wear some of the colors in public, others could easily blend into my semi-regular rotation.
One of my primary concerns was that the odd colors would be unflattering, especially where skin tone was concerned. Several really don't do me much justice. However, I was impressed with how each color made my eyes pop in a new way. It's kind of nice when you apply product to one part of your face and another gets a boost, no?
Anyway, as you're probably aware, OCC switched over to a new doe-foot applicator within the last year, which makes all of these easy to apply. For each, it took about two to three coats to attain full, even coverage. They retail for $16 each.
Would you wear any of them? Does Wasabi make me look like I have a disease?
