Tomie: The Prettiest Regenerating Evil Manga Psychopath

How to drive people to murder with your beauty (not really).

Recently, I've been a bit obsessed with this manga called Tomie by Junji Ito. It's about a girl who has the power to make anyone fall in love with her.

Sounds pretty boring, right? I suppose it would be, except for the fact that Tomie can get anyone to commit murder and that her lovers usually end up turning on her, eventually killing her and chopping her body into pieces. Then each piece spawns back into a new Tomie that exists to forever torture souls.

How crazy is that? Anyway, Tomie is pretty badass. I mean, if she existed in real life, I'd be running and screaming in the other direction, but seeing her safely drawn on paper makes me think, hmm, I'm into it.

Naturally, you'll want to take beauty tips from a girl who can make anyone fall in love with her and who has hair that can kill and possess.

Tomie's look is pretty simple; she's too busy dying and regenerating to worry about smoky eyes and red lips. She's got perfect skin, so I mixed a drop of Giorgio Armani Maestro Eraser with moisturizer and applied that all over my face for a look that's concealed but more natural than a full face of foundation.

I also added Tomie's signature mole under her left eye with some eyeliner.

Tomie has got quintessential kohl-rimmed, high-school girl eyes, so I lined my lower water line using black eyeliner.

Then, using liquid liner on my upper lash line, I did a slight cat eye.

I added false eyelashes to my upper lashes because I'm assuming that's what Tomie uses to trap her unsuspecting victims.

I also filled in my brows with brow powder.

For the lips, I used OCC's Lip Tar in clear--this stuff is fantastic. I really love the moist texture and it's a great base for other lipsticks, as well as being perfect to use on its own. It dries with just the right amount of sheen without looking too glossy.

Finally, I used a touch of Tony Moly lavender blush on my cheeks because that's what undead girls probably use to make them a bit different from everyone else.

Have you read Tomie? If not, here is my present to you. Have you taken beauty inspiration from comics before? Who's your favourite manga leading lady?
