Sometimes inspiration strikes at weird moments, right?

Over the past year I've been trying to get into fashion more — streetwear mostly. I think it's a super-interesting scene, but I don't know much about it.

Luckily, I have a fashionable friend who has an impressive sneaker collection. (Ae also wear the same size, which is fantastic.)

On a recent visit, while admiring her shoes, my inner beauty writer came out and decided to match my makeup to my friend's sneakers. Sometimes inspiration strikes at weird moments, right?

As this is quite a classic shoe, I went for a classic look. Obviously, I had to include a winged liner to represent the Nike swoosh. (Or should I've gone for Nike swoosh eyebrows?)

As there's a quite obvious gold statement to the shoe, I made one as well; I made my eyeliner a two-tone gold/black wing. The brown gum soles were almost a perfect match to my Colour Pop Kae liquid lipstick, which works really well with the look as well.

These shoes are super-comfy, quite sporty and mostly grurple — depending on the light, they look either purple or grey, which is really cool.

I went for a grurple smoky eye with a silver inner corner to represent the reflective parts of the shoe. I also went a bit overboard with the highlight, which made my skin almost reflective.

I couldn't find a good grurple in my stash, so I tried (and failed) to create my own by mixing NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in Train Bleu and NYX Matte Lipstick in Butter. For some reason, it made Train Bleu way more red than it actually is.

These guys are the latest addition to my friend's collection and boy, are they pretty! The beautiful cherry blossom print just makes me excited for spring.

I created a simple yet colorful eye look by swiping Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pink Gold all over my lid and right in the inner corner I added a pop of frosty blue/mint — C-Note from my Urban Decay Vice4 palette. To finish off I lined my waterline with a blue eye pencil.

On the lips I added a summery bright pink — NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in Milan — and to balance these bright colors, I kept everything else very simple and opted for a lower-coverage BB cream.
