I know I already wrote about the new Nonie Creme Colour Prevails line--specifically the awesome Mannequin Hands CC Cream Base Coat. However, I recently got to try out a few of the Eye Shimmer Powders as well, and I had to share because PRETTY.

These are $10 at Walgreens or and are available in 12 different shades. I have four: Gold (a warm gold), Pewter (a dark grey), Ruby Rust (a hot pink) and Teddy Bear (a warm brown). I don't know if the entire line is shimmery, but all of mine are.

You can use them wet or dry, and they're surprisingly easy to apply with the included applicator (although you're going to want to go back over it with an eyeshadow brush to blend properly).

Here I am wearing my favorite shade, Ruby Rust:

I like to have fun with pink eyeshadow every once in a while, and this one is my new favorite. It's really been helping me get out of my current boring makeup rut. Next I'm going to try this pretty eyeshadow palette.

Now it's time for your Comments of the Week!

1. This comment from "Kelly Bee" on Maricar's finger waves tutorial made me laugh because I do the same thing. I have almost zero hair and yet I love reading long hair tutorials.

I can't even do this with my pixie hair but I looked through it because your makeup is flawless and your hair is so SHINY AND PERFECT.

2. Thumbs up to "Jillian Venters" for rocking her awesome individual style and for her killer comeback game:

You look fantastic. I need to try pink eyebrows to match the pink streaks in my hair. I tend to get a lot of jerk comments because of my style (a mix of Mary Poppins, Stevie Nicks, and the Vampire Lestat), but the most recent one that stands out: browsing a thrift store, some dudebro type smirked at me and said, "What, are you a fuckin' witch or something?" I rictus-grinned at him and replied, "Yes. And I curse people who annoy me". He backed away very quickly.

3. If you're into green perfumes, "lynn" has some stellar sugggestions:

I love green perfumes! Consider Diptyque's Philosykos? It's a beautiful fig scent -- both very green and creamy. Another good fig is hermes jardin en mediterranee -- definitely greener. It's the scent that made me want to wear perfume! I prefer philosykos for day; hermes for nighttime -- both only in the summer. I also love Diptyque's l'ombre dans l'eau -- it's a green rose. I've only recently started liking more warmer/sweeter scents for cooler weather. Frederic Malle's musc ravageur and the dries van noten are both my winter perfumes. I'm pretty averse to most vanillas, but the dries van noten does it beautifully.

4. Don't feel bad, "DaleCooper." We've all committed beauty sins in the past.

Forgive me, for I have sinned. I painted my nails with White Out, popped milia with a safety pin and wore Ben Nye white cream make up mixed with Mac NW 15 as foundation.

5. Thanks for the breakout coverage tip, "Anne Shirley"!

This is going to sound weird, but when I have a zit that's too dried/scabby to cover, I dab a little blistex on, set it with some powder, and then do a normal routine of foundation/concealer and powder to set. The medication softens & moisturizes enough to let the makeup actually do its thing.

  • Have you tried anything from Colour Prevails yet?
  • If so, what did you think?
  • Are you a fan of hot pink eye shadow?
