Since I'm a visual person I hardly ever remember the album title but I just remember what the album art looks like.
One of my goals for this year was to play with more graphic eye-makeup shapes. I love doing a really well-blended look, but I also want to challenge myself to step out of my comfort zone.
Last week, "A. Cristina" posted an ultra-cool and vibrant eye look in the comments that ended up being the jumping-off point for the look I’m doing this week. Thanks for the inspiration!

After I primed my lids I added a base shadow color that is slightly lighter than my natural eyelid shade. Next I jumped right in and drew a thick wing along my upper lash line with a black gel liner. Starting from the furthest point on my wing, I drew another line, angled slightly above my crease. Once I was happy with the shape, I went back over the lines with matte black eye shadow.

Using the Urban Decay Electric Palette I took the shade Chaos (matte, vibrant cobalt blue) and lined along the inside of the upper extension line I drew. Don't worry about fall out as it'll get covered up later.

Next, I took the shade Fringe (shimmery teal) and lined the outer side of that same line, leaving the tiniest sliver of black in between. Take this all the way to the outer corner.

With the shade Gonzo (shimmery turquoise) I lined along the top of the black line extending across my upper lash line. This shade is not as pigmented as the rest so I had to go over it twice.

With the shade Thrash (matte lime green) I lined the underside of the outer portion of my wing.

I wanted more glitz in the look, so I added a metallic warm gold eye shadow all over the lid being careful not to smudge the liner. I cleaned up the area with a Q-tip a bit first and then used the smaller end of the brush that came with the Electric Palette.

With the same black gel liner I used before, I extended the wing into a small straight edge below my eyes. Then I added the shade Urban (a shimmery vibrant purple) underneath. I did this lightly at first to check the angle and then went in with more liner and finished with the purple shade.

I finished the eyes off with mascara and a pop of shimmering ivory shadow in the inner corners of my eyes. You can skip the bottom line if you aren't into it, but I like that it's so different!

Here's a side view of those lines.
I used a warm nude blush on my cheeks and a soft pink lip (I mixed a few colors) to complete the rest of the look.
Here are my other two favorite looks from last week:

Sybilvain is killing the polished work look!

Love the straight wing and witchundertones' curls!
What kind of shapes do you like playing with in terms of beauty looks? Do you like doing them with bold colors or do you stick with neutrals?
Take some advice from the most widely criticized holiday song to find a pretty great makeup look.

I don't have flights to touch up after or spend time in cross-town cabs reapplying makeup.
