Since I'm a visual person I hardly ever remember the album title but I just remember what the album art looks like.
I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to buy high-end mascara to get a lush lash effect. I’ve tried a few pricey varieties and none of them could hold a candle to my L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara, that is, until now.
I have one of those Ulta Reward points cards where you get a special gift during the month of your birthday. This year’s swag was a full-size CK One Color Mascara in Show (a true black). I initially wasn’t sold on it, because I typically like slightly drier formulas (they build volume better), but after revisiting it a couple of months later, I am fully in love.
What sets this apart from other mascaras is the adjustable wand: twist the very tip of the cap and it transforms from one wand shape to another.
The initial shape is thinner, with slightly longer bristles that are spaced evenly to create a comb-like effect that's great for separating and lengthening. This shape also keeps the wand from picking up too much product.
When you twist the cap, the wand shortens down to pack the bristles closer together, creating a tapered, twisted shape--like a mascara tornado! I love this “side” of the wand because it builds a lot of volume and makes my lashes stand out.
I put this mascara head-to-head with my L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara and was surprised to see how much better my lashes looked using the CK One wand(s).
I was definitely impressed by this mascara and will repurchase it once it runs out!
What are your favorite mascara formulas? Any other shape-shifting wands you've tried and liked?
