Since I'm a visual person I hardly ever remember the album title but I just remember what the album art looks like.
Oh boy, am I excited for Thanksgiving! It’s one of my favorite holidays because of the copious amounts of food that I can spend an entire day eating guilt-free. I’m attending a “friendsgiving” this this year with a bunch of my boyfriend’s cohort from his fancy-shmancy archeology grad school, so I’m particularly excited to see how the conversations differ from my family’s normal gossip.
At my family Thanksgiving feasts, we always kept it pretty chill—more of a jeans and sweater affair, probably with football running in the background. This year is likely going to shake out the same way, but I still want to make a bit of an effort, ya know? So I dug through my drugstore lipsticks to find the best, toughest formulas that can make it through a hearty Thanksgiving meal without breaking a sweat.
I picked up this liquid lipstick because I’m a bad reader and I assumed it was a lip gloss. It goes on exactly like a lip gloss, and it’s pretty either way, so I’m all good with the mix-up.
This liquid lipstick is very thin and dries down to a somewhat sticky, matte, but not flat finish. It's a tank and is really difficult to get off without a cleansing oil, so it will definitely make it through supper with only some fading as the day goes on.
Wet n’ Wild makes some of the most underrated drugstore makeup. A lot of the products are great, and the MegaLast Lip Colors are no exception.
The formula is a velvety matte that is a bit drying, but the pigmentation is on point. You really only need one swipe and you have a super-full color that leaves a bit of a stain behind.
For mega-feasting, be sure to apply, then blot, and apply again for better wear time.
If you crave ultra-precision with your lip color, look no further than the NYX Lip Liner Pencils. These come in almost a million colors, and for the $3 price tag, you can pretty much get one in every color you like.
This is quite a waxy lip pencil, so it will stand up to a lot of oil, but out of this list, this one will probably have the shortest wear time.
This has been my absolute favorite lipstick lately! It is a gorgeous, brown-toned, rusty red that would look bangin’ on pretty much anyone who wants to don it. It's a super-creamy formula for a matte lipstick, so it goes on smoothly and isn’t too drying.
This is another lip color that will need good blot or two to keep the wear time up enough to match your day of eating and schmoozing.
If you are a disbeliever that any lipstick can hold up to your gusto of eating/drinking/chatting you need to give the Rimmel Provocalips line a try. It’s a classic two-step liquid lipstick with a super-matte and highly pigmented liquid lipstick for step one and a hydrating clear gloss for step two.
You definitely need to do both steps to get the longest and most comfortable wear time out of this product, but this is by far the toughest and longest wearing lip color I’ve ever worn, lasting through many parties and lots and lots of snacking.
