VIDEO: How To Contour Like Kim Kardashian

Kim's other sister, Kalle Kardashian, has come out of the shadows to teach you how to "kontour."

Happy Friday, everyone! I hope you aren't too disappointed, but the weirdest thing happened last week. I was getting ready to film today's video, but I couldn't find my camera anywhere. Just when I was about to give up, a messenger delivered a package...and inside was my camera! The padded envelope had a California postmark on it, but I couldn't read the return address. It was written in dark red ink, and there were scorch-marks and ashes smudged all over it.

I had no idea how my camera got to California without me...and then things got even stranger. When I plugged it in to my laptop, there was video recorded. Like, a lot of video. A girl I don't know had recorded a full facial contouring tutorial on MY camera! I know this is a subject many of you have been curious about, so I edited it together, hairs prickling on the back of my neck as I did so.

So here it is. Kalle Kardashian proudly presents: How To Kontour!

And just in case you aren't into watching videos, or you'd like something to put on your Tumblr, I broke Kalle's technique down into this handy chart!

1: Apply warmer foundation all over the face and neck.2: Apply highlight to forehead, chin, under eyes, and bridge of nose.3: Blend highlight well.4: Add shadow to cheekbones, jawline, eyes, temple, and hairline.5: Blend shadow well.6: Add bronzer to shadow and extra setting powder to highlights.7: Blend powder well.8: Apply coral blush along cheekbone shadow and blend up.9: Finish the rest of your makeup. Be sure to go big or go home!

I have it on good authority that the face makeup Kalle used in this video was Clinique Even Better Makeup for all-over color, MAC Studio Finish Concealer for highlight, Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Leather in Creamy Beige for shadow, Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder, and Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder for setting. She'd also like to mention that her beautyblender was the true MVP of this look, as the success of major contouring lives and dies with skillful blending.

The blush Kalle used was Sideshow You from the MAC x Simpsons collection, and the lipstick was L'oreal Infallible Le Gloss in Blush. She isn't 100% sure where the eyelashes came from, as she's had them for years.

As I write this, I can see something moving out of the corner of my eye. A flicker of flame. The smell of smoke on the wind. The death-rattle of vocal fry. Kalle has found me.

She's here.

  • Have you guys ever done major, super contouring like this?
  • What did you think? I was genuinely shocked at how different I looked in real life, something I don't think pictures or video adequately captures.
  • Should Kalle kontribute to Vain regularly, assuming she doesn't go to jail for arson first?
