It’s that time of year again: time to celebrate an array of holidays with the ones you love, and perhaps more importantly, time to guzzle a little more Champy than is usually acceptable as you try to distract yourself from your sexist cousins (anyone with me here?) and forget about the awkward moments of the past year.

Call me a slasher of holiday cheer, but there’s at least one thing I’m feeling optimistic about: Champagne-colored beauty products. No other shade is as at once quaintly pretty yet downright sexy, subdued yet ultra-dramatic.

1. Kevyn Aucoin The Celestial Skin Liquid Lighting In Candlelight

It’s really true: candlelight is insanely flattering for the skin. Thanks to Kevyn Aucoin, though, you can fake it from Hanukkah to New Year's. Based on the brand’s infamous Celestial Powder, this glow-y, Champagne-hued liquid works alone, as a highlighter, or even mixed with your favorite foundation. You can thank this multitasker’s ultra-fine pearl and micronized spheres for the lit-from-within, sculpted results. Oh, and did I mention it has anti-aging benefits? No bottle of Moet could ever accomplish this much.

2. MAC Electric Cool Eye Shadow In Pure Flash!

Am I the only one who has a weird obsession with these new pillowy eye shadows? So much fun to touch! That’s the case with MAC’s awesome Electric Cool eye shadow range, which happens to have an array of highly blendable shades, the standout of which is, of course, a pale Champagne. It’s easy to apply with your fingers or a brush, and it’s just shimmery enough. I don a light wash of it with a simple cat-eye and mascara for every day, but its texture makes it easy to smoke out with darker, sultrier tones.

3. L'Oréal Infallible Silkissime Eyeliner in Highlighter

I’m skeptical of any eyeliner that claims to glide on like silk, yet last 16 hours. Well, meet my little miracle. The formula of this guy is sick, bringing you easy application, high pigmentation, and extreme staying power in one swipe. And we’re all bound to have post-party hangover face at least a few times this holiday season. Now, a solution: run this Champagne-tinged highlighter over your upper and lower waterlines, and voila! Eight hours of Zs, instantly.

4. Essie Nail Polish In Buy Me A Cameo

Essie’s website describes this shade as a “frosted satin mocha,” but I beg to differ--all I’m seeing is lacquer the color of bubbly. I’m actually one of the few who’s not usually a big Essie fan, as I find it chips easily and creates air bubbles on the nail surface, but this color doesn’t have the brand’s typical faults. And might I add that cashier reactions to my nails say it all? Nearly every time I hand over my card, I receive a compliment on Cameo.

  • All right, fellow Champy lovers, do you have a Champagne-hued product you’re particularly in love with?
  • How do you like to rock it?
  • Am I the only one that’s not always chipper as can be about the holidays?
