"How can I do winged, cat-eye style eyeliner quickly and easily?" is a question I get a lot. Liquid eyeliner is a wild beast that can be difficult to tame, especially when you're pressed for time and your hands are shaking, waiting for your morning caffeine fix to kick in. Well, I don't drink coffee, but I do have shaky hands. Anyway.

Seeing as a lot of ladies (and perhaps some gentleman) seem stumped on how to get flippy, sexy 1960s eyes like the ones I rocked with adult pigtails, I decided to make a how-to video to show you just EXACTLY how I do it. I have a few little secrets, and I've spent years "perfecting" my technique, so hopefully you guys will appreciate it and perhaps become eyeliner masters yourselves.

Before you watch, read this list of "must-have" items and get them assembled. I'll explain all of their purposes in the video.

What You'll Need

- Black pencil eyeliner. I'm using one from Smashbox. It's $19, available at smashbox.com, or Sephora.

- A tube of cheapo, black mascara. Any brand will do. I've always used NYC or Maybelline. In this video I'm using NYC's Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara, it's $1.99 and you can get it at any drugstore or Wal-Mart. Easy peasy.

- A bottle cap full of water. Or a cup. You don't need a lot of water, so that's why I suggested a bottle cap.

- A very fine tipped make-up brush. Even a paintbrush from an art supply store like Michaels will do. If you want to be professional though, this Make Up Forever one ($14, sephora.com) would be PERFECT.

Got everything? Then let's get started.
