It’s hard to tell since this was taken at dusk, but my skin had been GLOWING all day. I’m also sitting in front of a Boy George fan shrine that my roommate and I stole off the side of the road.

I’m not going to write a “How To Look Good When You’re Hungover” article because what beauty writer hasn’t done that? And is it really that hard to figure out? My own method is called the “Bathe & Pray,” but that’s for another article I suppose.

I personally get no sleep, ever. I just feel like it’s such a waste of time! Lucky for me (and you), I found a product that can help us all look fresh and ready for a new day, even if you haven’t slept from the previous one quite yet.

This great new product is called Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer from L’Oreal (What kind of a name is LUMI? I don’t know, what kind of a name is Tynan?).

Last week, as I was slinking through the drugstore, this little gem caught my eye. The pitch is “a unique liquid light formula that blends seamlessly into skin to boost liveliness and luminosity.” Liquid light, you say?

I’m lucky to have pretty decent skin, but I do have bags under my eyes that are pretty apparent on the daily from runningo no sleep. I hoped that this light infusing primer could help tone them down.

I was not disappointed! I scampered into my bathroom, squeezed some liquid into my hand and gasped. It was almost like molten silver! MAGIC! I focused on the areas I wanted to highlight and make look brighter, mostly under my eyes and my cheekbones. After I applied, my face was noticeably brighter and any signs of fatigue were drastically camouflaged. There was even a little dark spot under my eye, remnants of a bruise that wouldn’t budge, and after a little dot of this, it was gone!

It’s certainly not cover up, nor should it be used as such, but a bit of this on dark spots or other minor, unfavorable areas can make a huge difference.

My favorite thing about this product is that you can use it on its own, or mix it with your concealer or favorite moisturizer. Versatility, bitch!

The next morning out of sheer curiosity, I hopped out of the shower and put a couple drops of it onto my moisturizer, Beyond Hydration from Bioelements (it slays, trust). Doing this diluted the effect of the light reflecting primer, which is not to say that was a bad thing, because I then wasn’t afraid to put it all over my face, for more of a subtle, all-over glow.

Used alone, Magic Lumi Light Infusing Primer is not greasy and feels great on your skin all day. It won’t change the wear of your favorite concealer or moisturizer either, do don’t be afraid to experiment and play around with this stuff.

What are you favorite excuses for not getting any sleep? Let’s share stories.
