The idea of clothing isn't just to show or hide our bodies. It's to express who we are as people. When I wear my heavy, thick sweaters and oversized shirts, I'm not trying to hide myself. I'm trying to show you who I am.
I find nothing helps me get through a dark and doomy Monday morning than a great big jumper… and a sesame bagel smothered in peanut butter and jam, but that’s another story.
So, when confronted with such a jazzy garment, should one try to tone it down by wearing it with, say, a pair of jeans? As Alan Partridge (one of my personal style icons) would say, no way Jose, no way!
